Not yet. Belmont Residence is pending licensure as a Residential Treatment Home with the Oregon Health Authority, and we will not accept residents until our license is issued.

We are preparing to open in spring 2027 and will share a firm date with our interest list as soon as we have one.

Belmont Residence is in the Portland, Oregon metro area. To protect residents' privacy, we share the street address directly with families and referral partners.

Not yet. We cannot reserve beds, accept deposits, or make admission commitments before we open. Joining the interest list means you will hear from us first when referrals open.

Adults 18 and older living with a serious mental illness who are medically stable and need 24-hour support to live safely in the community. See our Program page for more on who may be a good fit.

Referrals may come from county mental health programs, coordinated care organizations, hospitals, other residential programs, case managers, and families working with a care team. Details are on our Admissions page.

Yes, you are welcome to reach out directly. Because admission involves care coordination, we usually complete the referral together with your case manager or county mental health program.

Yes. Every prospective resident is invited to a screening visit at the home before any decision is made, and we obtain informed consent for services from the individual or their legal representative before admission. Some residents may be transitioning from the Oregon State Hospital under civil commitment or the Psychiatric Security Review Board, and we coordinate those transitions with the appropriate authorities.

We plan for each resident to have a private bedroom, with a door they can lock. Residents are welcome to decorate and bring personal belongings.

Yes. Belmont is not a locked facility. Residents can come and go, take part in community activities, and attend work, school, or appointments, in line with their service plan and house guidelines.

Residents who can safely manage their own medications do so, as Oregon rules require. For others, staff trained by a licensed medical professional assist with medications as prescribed. All medications are kept in locked storage, and we help residents build the skills to manage medications more independently.

Residents continue seeing, or are connected with, community providers such as psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, and therapists. Our staff coordinate closely with those providers and help residents get to appointments.

Yes. Residents may keep personal phones and have private access to communication, as Oregon's resident rights require.

Yes. Family and friends are an important part of recovery. Residents may have visitors of their choosing at any time. We simply ask visitors to respect the privacy of everyone else in the home.

With the resident's written permission, yes. Privacy law requires a resident's consent before we share health information, and we help residents decide who they would like involved.

We want to hear it. Residents and families receive a written grievance process at move-in, and concerns can always be raised directly with program leadership without fear of retaliation.

Residential mental health services in Oregon may be funded through the Oregon Health Plan via a coordinated care organization, county programs, or private pay. We are finalizing our payer arrangements and will publish the options we accept before opening.
